Coenzyme Q10

also known as Ubiquinone (UQ), is a fat-soluble quinone compound that exists in nature,
and its structure is similar to vitamin K, vitamin E and plastoquinone.
It is involved in the production and activation of energy in human body cells and is the most effective antioxidant component to prevent the formation of arteriosclerosis.
The ubiquinone molecule contains a side chain consisting of multiple isoprene units connected to the p-benzoic quinone parent nucleus.The length of the side chain varies according to the source of ubiquinone, and generally contains n= 6-10 isoprene units.For mammals, therefore also known as coenzyme Q10.
